William T. Jones (c. 1842-?)
William T. Jones graduated from the class of 1860. He was named the Recording Secretary of the Alumni Executive Council in 1861. Jones was listed as a “messenger” in New York in the Institute’s 1871 Nineteenth Annual Report. It is possible that he and Andrew J. Jones (class of 1861) were related and William T. Jones also became a member of the press. There is a possible census match on a William T. Jones in the 1860 Federal census, age nineteen with a birth year of 1841. This William T. Jones was from “Philadelphia Ward 1, Precinct 10” living with a father named Thomas, mother, Mary L. Jones, sister, Hester Palmer, and brother-in-law, John Palmer. Andrew J. Jones is not mentioned in the household.
